What does GPS stand for?

The Global Positioning System [GPS] is a U.S. space-based radio navigation system that provides reliable positioning, navigation, and timing services to civilian users on a continuous basis -- freely available to all.  For anyone with a GPS receiver, the system will provide location and time.  GPS provides accurate location and time information for an unlimited number of people in all weather, day and night, anywhere in the world.

Why buy and use a GPS Auto or Motorcycle navigation system?

  • No more getting lost - Get to your destination on time.
  • Have confidence when traveling - no more wondering which way, left or right.
  • Ease of use - It is easier to use a GPS receiver than to navigate by using a map. On the GPS screen you can see where you want to go (as in a map) but also where you are!
  • GPS receivers are smaller to carry, easier to handle, much more versatile and updateable.
  • Personal navigation with a GPS also means you can customize maps as you go along - plotting points of interest and marking all those wonderful places in an easy, neat and ordered manner.
  • GPS receivers will also provide you with traveling support information [may not be available on all models], such as your :
  • Estimated time of arrival (ETA) at your selected destination,
  • How much fuel you have left (much more accurate than your fuel gauge in the car or truck)
  • Your true speed (with an accuracy of +/- 0.1 km/h).
  • Log your route as you travel to keep an accurate record of your traveling in case you need to trace back.
  • Time information on all GPS receivers are continuously adjusted from the atomic clocks used in the GPS system - the most accurate time and timing sources available today.
  • Use, for your own personal benefit, technology worth billions of dollars - for free with the compliments of the USA !
  • All these benefits plus much, much more!!!

How hard is it to use a GPS navigation system?

Auto or Motorcycle GPS Navigation systems are very easy to use.  You enter your destination, such as a street address and the system will determine the route or routes.  You select the route you desire or just start driving and the system will adjust to the route you are taking.  Some navigation systems have points of interest you can select from such as a hotel, eating place, park, government office, ATM or Post Office.  If you are traveling and need to find an ATM or fuel station or whatever, most units will find the one[s] closest to your current location.  You can mark it and it will direct you right to it.  I have used this many times.  Works slick.  The menus are very intuitive and easy to use.

SkyPatrol Vehicle Tracking System

How does the Vehicle Tracking System work?

The SkyPatrol Vehicle Tracking System can be used to track, locate and recover mobile assets via the internet.  You can detect the speed and actual location of the asset or vehicle using GPS technology.  These units do require a monthly subscriber fee.  This provides data access over the internet 24/7 anywhere cellular service is active.  Someone been borrowing your 'stuff' or want to know where the kids or Grandma are?  This unit will do it.  Check applicable laws in your state.
